Biography
David Berman is an attorney in BraunHagey & Borden’s New York office. His practice focuses on bringing impact litigation in state and federal courts to protect and advance the rights of disadvantaged communities in the United States. David has experience representing individuals and organizations in state and federal courts in cases involving housing discrimination, false arrests, malicious prosecutions, and use of excessive force by police and correctional officers, the abuse of children and persons with disabilities, First Amendment free speech, and other constitutional questions at both the trial and appellate level. He also has represented individuals and corporations in complex commercial litigation, including intellectual property disputes, partnership disputes, and breach of contract actions.
David clerked for the Hon. Cheryl Ann Krause for the Third Circuit Court of Appeals and the Hon. Allyne R. Ross of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of New York. During law school, David served as a student attorney in the Stanford Community Law Clinic where he represented low-income clients in eviction proceedings, criminal record expungements, and social security disability appeals.
Personal
David lives in New York City with his wife and two children. In his free time, you can find him chasing his kids around the playground, playing pickup basketball, and cheering on the Buffalo Bills.
